It is the most important day for Muslims across the world. It marks the birthday of Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him. Every year on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, Muslims all over the world celebrate Maulid Nabi by performing special prayers called 'Tarawih' with thousands of fellow believers. The Tarawih prayers are performed in specific mosques that have been designated to host it every night after Isha prayer until just before Fajr prayer. During this time, Suhoor-ul-Qadr will be served to all those who attend these prayers. The celebration also includes distributing sweets and distributing cards which contains the date of birth. The Maulid Nabi celebration is typically spread over the month of Ramadan. The Prophet Mohammed himself was born in the sixth century. However, his birthday is celebrated as a public holiday all over the world as per the Muslim lunar calendar every year during the month of Rabiul Awwal. This day marks a significant event in Islamic history as it marks the first revelation to Muhammad who later became known as Al-Ḍauṭif In Saudi Arabia, this day is celebrated with various festivities going on from dawn to dusk. It is considered to be one of the most important days in the Islamic calendar. It also happens to be the famous Makkah Tour operators' biggest day of celebration during this month. The Saudi Government closes all government offices and schools for the day. Then, after just before Fajr prayer, Muslims will go out into their big cities and towns to celebrate this event with fun, food, and music. However, due to religious strictness in Iran, no public celebration takes place there on this occasion. As it falls during Ramadan, Iranians do not eat or drink at night after sunset; thus they cannot leave their houses.. Some Iranians celebrate by distributing sweets that are different from those given elsewhere. The celebrations in India are generally held only in the Muslim majority parts of the country. The dates of Maulid Nabi differ from year to year, so these dates are only approximate. There are also celebrations on other Islamic festivals, such as Eid-ul-Fitr, at this time. The celebration of Maulid Nabi is largely restricted to India and Pakistan. As opposed to Muslim majority countries, where the celebration is usually not restricted to one day but spread over several days, it is almost always celebrated on 12 Rabiul Awwal In Indonesia there are not many fans celebrating this day at their area. The celebration of Maulid nabi in Indonesia mainly happens in West Java, particularly Solo City. The celebrations are usually held by different groups in different mosques, for example in Jamiyya Mosque, an Islamic boarding school for boys, the celebration is organised by the students. The celebration also includes distributing sweets called Nasi Kuning. The head of Jamiyya Mosque Maulana Hasbin says that the celebrations are only limited to West Java because the day when Prophet Muhammad was born, is not a national holiday in Indonesia therefore government offices do not close on this day. In Malaysia it is also celebrated in various areas including Johor Bahru where there are many mosques which are used to host celebrations. During this time many restaurants prepare special halal food for their customers. cfa1e77820
